MCC
intends to utilize one drill rig to complete this schedule.
WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
MCC will install and maintain a water supply system to provide water to the drill
sites and for dust suppression. This system will minimize, to a large degree, the need for
water skidders and water trucks to travel the temporary roads. The water supply system
will include, but is not limited to, flexible hosing, rigid piping, water pumps, and storage
tanks.
MCC will install the water supply system prior to, or as soon as possible after the
construction of the drill pads. The hosing and/or pipes will be placed along side of
existing roads wherever practical. The lines will be anchored to prevent damage due to
surging in the lines. Flexible hosing will be laid out cross-country to minimize total line
length and/or to maximize operational efficiency of the system. The cross-country route
would be from the Shaft Canyon Road to the reclaimed 14-07 pad.
The main waterline system will continue to utilize the existing portion of the road
above the Sylvester Gulch airshafts and will follow the proposed route of the Shaft
Canyon Road up to drill pad 24-08 and cross-country up the ridge to the 14-07 pad and
thence along this road to the West Bench Road to tie-into a portable water tank at the 22-
04 pad site and from there out the West Flat Iron Extension to 18-40/18-42 pad. Pumps
may also be situated at the 22-04 site to distribute the water to service the LM-140 rig if
needed.
Water for drilling the Box Canyon wells 7-21-22 thru 10-21-10.5 would be
pumped from the North Fork of the Gumuson via flexible hosing up to the well sites via
lines extended in 2006.
The projected waterline, pump, and water tank locations are provided on the
attached Map 3. MCC will identify and mark the waterline alignments prior to installation
for review and approval by the responsible USFS representative.
STAGING AREAS
MCC will utilize existing drill pad locations for staging azeas. The staging areas
will allow MCC to temporazily store equipment and supplies used in the drilling and
venting programs, and to store materials required for the continuing reclamation of past
drill sites and roads as well as the interim reclamation of new roads as they are developed.
10
