' E.3.2 Waste Rock Disposal Areas
Waste rock disposal areas will be constructed at a
1.5H:1V slope. Each lift will include a 75-f; horizontal
' setback before beginning the next lift. The ne; or average
slope of the waste rock facilities, taking into account the
' design sideslopes and bench setbacks, is approxirt~ately 3H:IV.
Dump outslopes will be regraded upon completion. the outslopes
will be graded to eliminate all but a 15-ft wide (dozer width)
t of each bench. This area will allow for sediment collection
and erosion control. Where possible, the waste rock disposal
' areas will be reclaimed concurrent with waste rock placement.
As each lift is placed, the outslope along with the previous
bench may be reclaimed, as long as the seasonal conditions
permit reclamation. Topsoil will be applied to the dumps. The
' areas for topsoil placement will be prepared and seeded using
the basic procedures outlined in Section E.3.
' E.3.3 Heao Leach Facilities
1 E.3.3.1 Cyanide Neutralization
' Neutralization will begin with treatment of the
l
ti
h
id
i
h
d
so
u
ons
e cyan
e
n t
e pon
leach pond solutions. T
~ will be neutralized by adding hydrogen peroxide. Once
' the water in the ponds has been treated with the
oxidizing agent, the treated water will be used to rinse
' the leach pile. Sampling of outflows from the heap will
occur once per week during the neutraliz.iticn phase.
During the neutralization phase, the water will be
applied using sprinklers. The sprinklers will allow for
' increased evaporation during reclamation.
