• ~
.
Mr. Neil Sprague - 5 - Ja~uary 14, 1986
8. An expected reclamation cross-section would be helpful!
9. The applicant should commit to analyzing the salvaged reclamation
material to determine what, if any, fertilizer is necessary to help
re vegetation.
10. Unless immediate plans for housing construction are anticipated in
this area, the operator must commit to reclaiming to m~untain
grassland.
11. Will all access/haul roads be reclaimed? Those proposed as
permanent must be clearly delineated. I
12. The reclamation plan states that SCS recommendations w 11 be
followed. Reclamation costs include seedlings not rec mmended by
the SCS. How will the seedlings be planted?
13. Reclamation costs are based upon the Division completi g
reclamation because of inability on the opertor's part These
costs must include equipment rental by the Division, h wever
maximum bond fora 110 permit can not exceed 55,000.00 I have
attached a recalculation of these costs.
The Division must receive proof of publication for each permit ap lication and
proof of adjacent landowner notification before a decision can be made on the
applications. In addition, on all applications the operator shou d commit to
marking the permit boundaries with steel posts.
I have spoken with Jerry White of Lorimer County and he has Indic ted that the
county is willing to grant approval for the existing Arkins Park outh and
Loveland-Trupp quarries so that you can work in those areas until all the
permits go through La rimer Counties hearing process. The Di visio can not
make a decision until we receive this from him; however a decisio should be
forthcoming.
We will need these adequacy concerns addressed as soon as possibl but in no
case later than January 20, 1986 in order to consider these appli ations at
the January Mined Land Reclamation Board meeting.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Anne C. Baldrige
Reclamation Specialist
ACB/tmb
cc: Mr. Jerry White, Lorimer County Planning
6507E
