Mt. David Berry
July 15, 1985
Page Four
(Y3. The topsoil stockpile area at the Northwest end of the site
will be 2 acres. This area will be cleared and reclaimed
prior to plant site development.
The Northwest topsoil area reclamation costs include
ripping/scarifying, topsoiling and seeding with fertilizer
and mulch - the same reclamation requirements for a Plant
Site. Topsoil for Phases III, IV and V will.be stared at the
two acre plant site, therefore bond increase at that time is
unnecessary.
If acreage of any of these activities changes, a
technical revision will be submitted.
4. Water will not drain upslope from pump discharge during Phase
I. Trenches are not planned or necessary. Water will
proceed down the existing ditch toward St. Vrain Creek as
shown on the Quad Map. Discharge at the South Permit Area
will flow into St. Vrain Creek via the old creek channel. An
NPDES dewatering permit application is being processed. As
stated, both existing drainages are capable of handling the
water to be discharged.
5. Pumping will occur only from the indicated locations.
6. Excavation disturbance will be 5 acre parcels, to be left as
surface water as part of the Reclamation Plan.
J-\
Dewatering operations will not damage or kill the mature
cottonwood trees. The cottonwood trees to remain ape
immediately adjacent to the river and should not be affected.
The water table is extremely high and should not exceed the \Qoa
root system depth during dewatering operations. If for some
unforeseen reason the cottonwoods require water, it will be
applied when necessary by tanker truck.
In our opinion, groundwater monitoring wells are unnecessary.
The existing water table is such that the dewatering opera-
tion will not adversely affect the Craig Well.
Adjacent landowners • concur with the dewatering
operation, as indicated at the June 4th County hearing.
Their land which is barely useable now will become viable
pasture land.
it., ''.,._.r..r..:
