Climax cover is mostly grasses with a scatter <br />ing of forbea and shrubs. Indian rice grass is the major grass. Others are bluegrama, <br />squirrel tail, sand dropseed, spike dropseed, Fendler Three-~wn, Needleland Thread, <br />Scribner Needle grass, and lJestern Wheat grass. There are small amounts of several <br />others. Green's rabbitbrush is generally the most prominent shrub. Fourwing <br />Saltbrush, winterfat, prickly pear, and yucca are usually present. These are <br />SUGGESTED SOLUTION(S) commonly trace amounts of other shrubs, including gooseberry <br />skunkbush sumac, rubber rabbitbrush, fringed sage, hedgehog cactus, and in places, <br />apache plume and Bigelow sagebrush. Big sagebrush is prominent in some areas where <br />precipitation is highest. It shows up in a few other places on northerly-facing <br />slopes and drainage ways, but is absent over much of the site.
