As described on page 59 of this permit, the Apex <br />#1 Mine water reached equilibrium at an elevation of 7350', which is well below the <br />portal level. <br />The surface area has also been well-reclaimed where all tanks and other structures <br />except the mine office have been removed. Six inches of topsoil was added to the <br />regraded surface and the prescribed seed mix was applied in the fall of 1992. <br />Two shallow alluvial wells were installed, one immediately upstream and one <br />downstream of the mine disturbance. These wells in addition to samples drawn from <br />Trout Creek itself are being made annually to evaluate impacts to the surface water <br />quality. <br />As of March of 2001, no degradation of water quality in the wells or in Troul Creek has <br />been identified. <br />• <br />• <br />Mid-Term Review 3/2I/OI 190.5 <br />
