• MINING PLAN <br /> The removal process will be to extract the material (30-50%) from the top 30 feet of a <br /> 9.55 acre site located on a high mesa Southeast of Cameo. <br /> A thirty foot wide strip around the perimeter of the permit boundary will be maintained <br /> as a buffer, and will contain safety barrier ditches leading to a crescent shaped catch <br /> basin. <br /> Blasting will not be a part of the extraction process. <br /> The material extracted will be removed using heavy equipment within the perimeter of <br /> the proposed mining site. Excavators and loaders will be used to process the material <br /> through a grizley to separate the usable material from the alluvial deposit. <br /> Extraction of the material will be on an as needed basis. It is anticipated when and if <br /> stockpiling is needed, the extraction will take place during the Winter months or when <br /> soil conditions (moisture) results in minimal dust generation. Predominate winds are <br /> up-slope to the east and should carry any dust produced by the extraction process <br /> toward uninhabited property. <br /> • The storage area for equipment, storage and loading will be within the disturbed area <br /> of each current phase. Portable sanitation facilities (Porta-John)will be on site during <br /> operation. <br /> The hours of operation will be 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Saturday. In <br /> emergency situations (flooding, etc.), some hauling may occur before or after proposed <br /> working hours. <br /> It is planned to extract rip/rap in eight (8) phases of approximately 3/4 acre each. Each <br /> phase will result in the maximum processing of approximately 55,000 Ton of material of <br /> which up to 112 (27,500 Ton) will be removed. The maximum slope created during the <br /> extraction process will be at 3:1. <br /> Mining of the first phase will commence in 1995, and will begin at the highest portion of <br /> the site and progress Northwesterly to the final phase. Each phase is estimated to last <br /> approximately three years. <br /> The unused material (spoil)will be deposited back into the same excavation from which <br /> it was removed and shaped to blend with the surrounding features (See mine plan <br /> exhibit). <br /> • 2 <br />
