4. SAFETY AND ACCESS FOR MAINTENANCE
The landowner of Pond 008 is the Burbridge family, who have farmed the land for many decades
prior to mining. They still live in the house immediately south of Pond 008. They intend to allow
cattle grazing on the irrigated pasture. As is seen from the plan view of the pond in Map 2.05.3(3)-
4-3, the slopes around the pond are mild and typically average 4ti:1 V, which is very easy for
anyone to negotiate to clean out the pond and conduct maintenance.
No fencing on the Burbridge property is contemplated at this time because it is not needed.
5. POND SIZE
As described earlier, it is normal for the pond to contain at least 2.0 feet of water depth for at least
45 days more than Calamity Draw to the south. At this depth, the pond will contain a volume of
0.69 acre feet. The principal spillway is an 18" CMP pipe with an 8' riser on it at elevation 5659.1'
• and two 6" sections at elevation 5652.0' which have two 6" valves to regulate the elevation in the
pond. This detail is shown on Map 2.05.3(3)-4-3. This is adequate for its intended use.
The table below has been extracted from the SEDCAD run in Attachment 2.05.3{3)-4, showing
various volumes, depths and

surface acreages for each.
rre~anoo ~*
ix) taverns
(~+U ~~x °ii ~
(~) (hs)
s,6a7.oo o.x11 aooo aooo roo orsea. smre9e
s,64~so axel 0.1x3 a.ooo
s,64aoo o.36x o.xe3 aooo
5,64&50 0.40.3 0.474 0.000
s,s49.oo 0.4+6 0.696 o.aoo
5,649.50 Q473 0.916 0.000
s,ew.0o asa0 1.15'9 0.000
s,6sow osx6 1.4x6 ao0o
s,6sl.oo oss3 L665 aoo0
s,6s1.s0 o,s79 1.969 0.000
s,6sxao 0.60.6 zzrs 0.000
s,6sx.so 0.634 x.s7s o.00o tow nob svw n
s,6se.o0 0.661 z.e9e aooo
Revised August 2006 Attachment 2.05.33)-19-8
