ADDITIOIJ,S AND DELETIOIJS TO THE C-LP-21 IJIt~ APPLICATION
1. A. The correct application fee is $215.00, as extra acreage was
added around the waste dump and shop facilities. An additional
$16.50 is being forwarded.
2. A. All legal~.descriptions should include N.tJ.P.tJ. following the
township and range. Delete "4.12 acres" in the SW; of IJW; of
Section 27 and insert "4.24 acres". Delete "9.90 TOTAL ACRES"
and insert "10.02 TOTAL ACRES".
3. A. A revised map, Exhibit C-2, is included.
B. There are no accurate vegetation maps for the area which supply
the detail you request. Vegetation immediately surrounding the
small amount of affected land, which totals not much more than
ten acres, has been estimated using air photos. Any further
extrapolation of this information would be very inaccurate and
I can see no use for it in reclamation.
4. A. The material stockpiled was removed at depths varying from 10"
to 18" from the area on which the waste dump now sits. To
label this material "topsoil" is using the term loosely, but it
is the unconsolidated material on the surface before mining began.
B. Please consider this water subject in the same manner as for the
C-~D-6 Mine.
C. Acreage has been increased only slightly, since adequate buffer
zones were allowed originally.
D. Height and angle of slope for the waste dump cannot be given as
final size of the dump could only be roughly figured presuming
the development of the mine underground w•as known exactly.
The LP-21 waste dump is of the same "design" as most other waste
dumps in Uravan IJineral Belt. Carts of muck are dumped in small
closely spaced piles within the area shaded as affected acreage
in Exhibit C-2, flattened and compacted, and the process repeated,
with the dump increasing in height and in diameter.
5. Roads, made by Cotter Corporation, will be scarified and planted
with the seed mixture specified in 5-D. Compacted areas around
the office-shop building, portal, waste dump, etc., will be
scarified, spread with the stockpiled material, and seeded with
the same mixture. Venthole fans will be dismantled and removed,
the hole will be plugged by blasting, the concrete pad removed, and
the area will be reseeded with the mixture described in 5-D.
