Attached to the <br />application is a lengthy appendix which contains the data obtained <br />by numerous experts retained by Battle Mountain to plan and <br />evaluate the proposed mining operation and includes their expert <br />opinions concerning matters such as environmental impacts of the <br />operation, minimization of such impacts on the hydrologic balance, <br />and water sources and requirements. See Vol. 6C, pages 1125-1404. <br />Specific sections of the Application which contain tY.is detailed <br />information are: <br />1. Exhibit D, which contains-information describing <br />mining operations, impacts of the mining operations <br />on surface and ground water resources, project <br />design criteria to protect ground water and surface <br />water resources, indications of project water <br />sources, estimates of project water needs for <br />various aspects of the operation and commitments by <br />Battle Mountain to obtain water rights prior to <br />commencing mining operations. Vol. 6A, pages 965- <br />1028. <br />2. Exhibit E, which contains information indicating <br />that no irrigation water will be required for site <br />reclamation and that sediment runoff anc9 soil <br />erosion will be controlled to protect water quality. <br />Vol. 6A, pages 1028-1042. <br />3. Exhibit G, which contains extensive infoi^mation <br />regarding the hydrologic system, surface and ground <br />water quality and quantity, project water sources <br />and existing water rights in the area.
