~ III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ~
Parkdale Project Reclamation Permit
S/1~
Exhibit J -Vegetation Information
Introduction
Vegetation studies were completed within the proposed permit area on April 21 and 22,
1997 by representatives of Cedar Creek Associates, Inc. The objectives of this field
work were to characterize in general terms vegetation types within the proposed permit
area and to evaluate, in more detail, the vegetation of the areas proposed for disturbance.
A map was also to be prepared depicting the general vegetation types on site.
Seven vegetation types were delineated within the project area. These include the
Pinyon/Juniper, Shrub/Grassland, Stream Wash, Riparian, Grassland, PinyoNJuniper
Grassland and Grassland/Improved Pasture types. The paragraphs below present the
field data collection methodology and address each of these vegetation types. The detail
of each vegetation type discussion varies with the extent to which the type is proposed to
be disturbed. Map J depicts the boundaries of each type within the proposed permit area
and can be compared with Map I to show the relationship of vegetation types with soil
types on the areas proposed to be disturbed. Copies of all data sheets completed in the
field are included with this exhibit. Table J-I, located at the end of this exhibit, presents
a species list keyed to vegetation topographic features and is meant to support the field
data sheets.
