existing storage reclaim tunnel) that will elevate the coal to the top of the truck loading
. facility.
Truck Loadout Building: When the Hayden Gulch Loadout facility was used to load unit trains
for market coal delivery, the loadout building was located over the railroad track. The
building will be refurbished and relocated under this operations plan. The loadout building
will be located near the existing steel stack tube. The ateel stack tube and associated
concrete reclaim tunnel will be demolished.
Coal transported to the top of the loading facility is discharged into a 75-ton surge bin.
The bin is necessary to provide continuous loading and permit cutoff of coal flow between
tandem trailers. Continuous coal sampling is provided by an ASTM sampling system as coal is
discharged from the 60-inch wide elevating belt conveyor. Afour-foot-square, air operated
guillotine gate was installed horizontally at the surge bin discharge opening. A
telescoping loading chute was provided for uniform loading of trailers and installed
independently and below the guillotine gate.
Haul Road HGLF-HR2 will be constructed to allow haulage trucks a route through the loading
area.
Operation: Operation of all coal handling equipment is controlled from an operations cab
located at the truck loadout building.
Ancillary Facilities
A 24-foot by 62-foot mobile trailer was provided to house office and change house
facilities. The trailer is insulated, electrically heated, lighted and ventilated. Non-
potable water for the trailer is furnished from a well located two miles north of the
trailer (immediately southeast of the intersection of Highway 40 and Routt County Road 37).
A hydropneumatic system with a storage tank provides an adequate water supply at the
required pressure.
A passenger car parking area is provided adjacent to the office/change house building. A
new, gravel-surfaced parking area will be constructed at the truck loading building.
Sewage Water and Stormwater Facilities
A septic system was provided to collect all sewage water from the office and change house
trailers. Storm water runoff from the facilities area is accumulated in the two
sedimentation ponds.
Power Transmission
Power entering the permit area is shown on Exhibit 12-1, Facilities Map.
TR-06 15 Revised OS/OS
