<br /> <br /> <br />RX177RTT R <br /> <br />SITE DESCRIPTION AND LAND USE <br />The Blue Flame Coal Company has only one underground coal <br />mining operation lrx;ated in La Plata County, Colorado. The nxine site <br />rr~y be reached by heading south from Hesperus on State Highway 140 <br />(about 214 miles) to the junction of La Plata County Hoad 120. Follow <br />the County Road West for 4.0 miles in Hay Gulch. At that point, an <br />unpaved xvad (access road) leads southernly fur about 1200 feet putting <br />one at the Blue Flume Coal Mine site. <br />'The following legal description covers the mineral rights <br />belonging to Fidel Lobato at the mine site in Hay Gulch. Most of the <br />• sux•fac;e facilities are located on this acreage. Mining canmenced here <br />nc;arly 40 years ago and during this time up to the present, only 3.0 +/- <br />(mine berx:h) acres of surface has been disturbed due to mining <br />operations. The access road from County Hoad 120 to the mine bench teas <br />disturbed an additional 0.5 acres. <br />LEGAL DESCL;IPTION <br />The upper vein of coal comme7>cing at an elevation of 7,G&2.17 <br />feet at the mine portal, which vein is generally located on <br />pxvperty described as the West 400 feet of the Northeast <br />Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (N'W 1/4 NF 1/4) of S~tion <br />Thirty-one (31), 'Township Thirty-five (35) North, Range Eleven <br />(11) West, N.M.P.M.
