Box 260678
Littleton, CO 80163-0678
Attn: Scott Leonhart
Notice of Intent No.: X-2005-226-00
Project Name: Northfield Exploration
County: Fremont
Dear Kent:
This report includes a description of all exploration and reclamation activities during the initial 180
days of active prospecting, plus the period through the date of this report. Northfield Partners LLC
(Northfield) has recently completed all drilling and initial reclamation activities as proposed in the
NOI. The three drill holes were completed as monitoring wells and remain open for the purpose of
obtaining baseline hydrology data.
Northfield commenced coal exploration activities on April 2, 2005, on the permit site designated
NF-02. Subsequent drilling occurred on permit sites NF-O1, then NF-03, both wells being
completed by April 17, 2005. Due to drilling contractor delays caused by supply shortages, the
completion of well case grouting at NF-01 and NF-03 was not completed until July 14, 2004.
The three holes drilled to date aze shown on the attached map, "180-Day Report Exploration Map".
All holes were drilled in the exact locations shown on the map (same map previously submitted
with the NOI). The only significant road construction was an approximately 240 ft. of road built
between the existing drill trail and the NF-Ol drill site pad. No drill rigs/test equipment are
currently located or operating in the proposed exploration azea.
Northfield performed initial reclamation work during June 21-28, 2005, on all azeas disturbed as a
result of drilling activities. The work included spreading of drill cuttings on the drill pad areas,
redistribution of all available topsoil on the drill pads, and broadcast seeding of the approved seed
mixture. In addition, straw mulch was broadcast on the drilling sites,
