Go 8isoe ;, ;~ <br />c~7o~ uima2;:::,, <br />~FAX(970)243-1162~~;~'.; <br />• , . .'r~" <br />August 4, 1996 <br />Mr Jim Stover <br />2768 Compass Drive Suite 101 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81506 <br />Dear Mr. Stover; <br />On July 2, 1996, Enviro25 Environmental Services Inc. conducted <br />4round survey activities on the proposed Bowie Resources <br />development in order to ascertain presence, and to confirm by live <br />trapping and observation, species of herps, birds _and mammals <br />present. <br />Two types of habitat were observed, these were Shrub and stream <br />lands as described by the Division of wildlife "Wild^ database. .A <br />list of species observed coupled with the previous T6E study broken <br />down by habitat category are attached. It might be noted that many <br />species of birds were still singing, and the playing of a tape of <br />the southwestern willow flycatcher solicited no responses, even <br />though several tyrannid species were both heard and observed. <br />Even though the riparian and floodplain areas will not be directly <br />impacted by the development, efforts were made to identify any <br />• sensitive species. The threatened and endangered species study <br />clearly identified no species at risk in this nearby riverine <br />habitat. <br />Observations of species diversity even within the riparian area <br />seemed low. This is likely due to the extremely disturbed .nature <br />of this habitat. Grazing and other human related activities <br />dominate in this habitat type in this area. <br />Enviro25 conducted this baseline observational study to satisfy DMG <br />rule 2.04.11 and with guidance from David Herry of the DMG.
