The total permit azea is 92.74 acres. A breakdown of the estimated azeas is included in Table D-
2.
Water from the mining operation will not be dischazged from the site except through the
sediment pond in the northeast corner of the permit. In order to ensure that water from inside the
operation does not leave the site, several isolation berms will be created azound the pit, as seen
on Map C-2. Surface water and runoff is more fully discussed in Exhibit G: Water
Information.
Table D-2 Permit Acreage Breakdown
1. Undisturbed Land 49.95
2. Access Roads 0.39
3. Staging Area 9.66
Total Permit Area 92.74
In order to access the phases throughout the mining of the pit, several internal haulage roads will
have to be constructed. Each road is labeled on Map C-2 indicating which Phases they will be
reclaimed with. Roads will be constructed 20' wide with road base and will be compacted if
necessary and will have water applications as needed.
Mining will progress through the Phases numerically. A table of expected mining lives for each
Phase is included in Table D-3. The life of each Phase is based on the anticipated annual
averaee tonnage. Any available topsoil from a new area will be used to reclaim the greviously
mined azeas.
Table D-3
Mining Tonnage per Area
Phase Acres Tons Gravel Gravel Life (yeazs)
1 10.96 298,857 1.2
2 10.94 322,692 1.3
3 10.84 276,601 1.1
Total 32.74 898,150 3.6
White River City Pit December 06 D-4
