• Phase 6 Area BS will be quarried for limestone. The available top-
soil in Area B6 will be removed and stockpiled in the des-
ignated area and preserved. Due to the dip of the limestone
bed and the steep grade of the terrain, it will be necessary
to have a 20 to 25 foot bench in the quarry at this point.
Overburden from Area B6 will be stripped and backfilled into
Area B4 and used to construct the necessary roads to trans-
verse the quarry bench and also to eliminate the resulting
high wall between Area B4 and B5. The overburden will be
backfilled in Area B4 along the high wall and contoured to
a slope of 2 to 1 or less.
The high calcium limestone will be removed from Area BS
using conventional open pit drilling and blasting methods.
The limestone will be loaded into trucks and hauled to the
stockpile area for sizing and stockpiling.
The overburden in Areas B3 and B4 will be backfilled with the
material from the adjacent perimeter area, contoured to a
slope of 2 to 1 or less and leveled. The remaining available
topsoil will be spread in Area B3 8 to 12 inches thick. The
area will then be revegetated with: Indian Ricegrass 3.211/acre;
Western Wheatgrass 4.011/acre; Mountain Mahogany 4.0/i/acre; Sage
1.511/acre; Rabbit Brush 2.511/acre. Ponderosa seedings @ 10/acre.
This phase will require 48 months and the disturbance will
• be approximately:
Major - 2.58 acres
Moderate - 1.50 acres
Minor - 3.25 acres
•
