35. Is the location and• elevation for the DH series of drill holes the only information
available?
36. The Division current understanding of the coal seams to be mined by the surface mine
are, in descending order, R, Q, P, O, O,, and the N. Underground mining will occur in
the R and the Primero, the lowest seam to be mined. All seams to be mined should be
depicted on Figure G-1, Representative Columnaz Section and list ranges of thickness
which agree with the corresponding text. Page 10 of Exhibit 6 states "coal to be mined
at the surface mine consists potentially of the P, O, N, and Q seams." No mention is
made of the R and the O, and furittermore, the seams aze listed out of sequence. Please
correct this information throughout the permit to be accurate and consistent.
37. Cross sections and the geology map indicate the R seam and the Primero seam are
separated by 450-500 feet. However, Figure G-I indicates neazly 700 feet of separation.
Which is correct? Inaccurate information should be removed or corrected.
38. The Geology Map 2.04.6-2 provides information for the R and P seam for the surface
mine and the C and P seam for the underground operation. Are the R and the C seam
the same seam while the P and P seam are different? Other information references the
Ciruela seams, which is apparently the R. The Division has no preference on which seam
name is used as long as it is consistent on all permit materials. Please correct and/or
clazify.
39. Why aze there substantial differences in the zero contour on Overburden'fhickness map
G-1 and the coal outcrop of the Ciruela seam on map G-2? Should this line not be
identical on both maps? Why is no overburden depicted over much of the area to be
surface mined?
40. The Geology Map depicts the surface elevation of MW-2 as 7378 feet but the lithologic
log indicates 7440 feet. Which is correct?
41. The Geology Map depicts the surface elevation of MW-3 as 7684 feet but the lithologic
lop indicates 7640 feet. Which is correct?
42. The Geology Map depicts the surface elevation of BH-1 as 7238 feet but the lithologic
log indicates 7320 feet. Which is cottect? Also, the location as spotted on the map
would approximate the elevation as 7388 feet. Please clazify.
43. The Geology Map depicts the elevation of BH-2 as 7167 feet but the lithologic log
indicates 7300 feet. Which is correct?
44. The Geology Map shows cross-section B-B' starting from the west with BH-l, LT-029,
LT-30 and DH-069. Cross-section B-B' is ordered from the west starting with LT-028,
LT-029, BH-001, LT-30, DH-069. Please correct and/or clazify this information.
45. Why does the Geology Map indicate the R seam at 7248 feet for hole DH-60 when the
