LAND USE <br /> <br />Section 2.04.3 of the regulation states <br />that "The application shall contain a <br />description of the existing land uses and land <br />use classification under local law, if any, of <br />the proposed permit azea and adjacent areas." <br />conditions will also be provided. Public <br />roads, houses, sheds, pipelines, transmission <br />line easements, public buildings, cemeteries, <br />wells, and other structures as defined by <br />regulation will be mapped. <br />The pre-mine and use of the mine permit <br />area and adjacent lands will be mapped. <br />Primary land use types anticipated in the <br />Lorencito project area are rangeland, <br />cropland/pasture, mining, and wildlife <br />habitat. Potential areas unsuitable for mining <br />relevant to land use/socioeconomic concerns <br />include recreational, wilderness study areas, <br />scenic areas, natural areas, prune farmlands, <br />and fragile or historic lands which might be <br />adversely affected. These will be addressed, <br />although none of these land uses are <br />currently anticipated to occur in the project <br />area. <br />The land use plans (Las Animas County) <br />will be reviewed to ensure project <br />compatibility. A detailed narrative of land <br />capability and productivity quantifying <br />potential uses of the land under managed <br />The post-mine land use of the mine <br />permit azea will be evaluated and mapped. It <br />is anticipated that final land uses proposed in <br />the reclamation plan will be similar to pre- <br />mine land uses. Alternative post-mine land <br />uses will also be addressed for suitable areas <br />within the mine permit area. <br />Land ownership of properties adjacent to <br />the mine permit area will be complied and <br />mapped from land ownership data reviewed <br />at the county office. <br />A Las Animas County Special Use <br />Permit application will also be completed for <br />County approval of industrial land use of the <br />site. This application will be submitted about <br />the same time as the CDMG permit <br />application. <br />2 <br />
