I Air QuaL'N Stull PIm~
Nitrogen Oxides(NO~: 469 pounds per
1,000 gallows diesel fuel, or 14.0 grams per
horsepower-hour;
Carbon Monoxide (CO): 102 pounds per
1,000 gallons diesel fuel, or 3.03 grams per
horsepower-hour;
Sulfur Oxides (SOx~: 31.2 pounds per 1,000
gallons diesel fuel, or 0.93 grams per
horsepower-hour;
If annual emissions of NOS, SOS , CO, os
particulate exceed 250 tons per year, a
complex Prevention of Significant
Deterioration (PSD) permit would be
required. This permit would involve a yeaz
of meteorological and air quality monitoring,
complex dispersion modeling, and an
evaluation of the Best Available Control
Technology (BACT). The time required to
complete this process would be 8-12 months.
Particulate: 33.5 pounds per 1,000 gallons
diesel fuel, or 1.00 gram per horsepower-
hour;
Hydrocarbons: 37.5 pounds per 1,000
gallons diesel fuel, or 1.12 gram per
horsepower-hour.
These emission factors aze used to estimate
the uncontrolled emissions from adiesel-
fueled generator. Factors which would
control the total emissions aze the
manufacturer's specifications with pollution
control devises installed, and the total
number of hours the generator would
operate.
If annual emissions aze 100 tons or more but
less than 250 tons, a Title V operating permit
would be required. The time period for a
Title V permit would be 4-6 months.
If emissions aze less than 100 tons, then a
normal construction air permit would be
required. The time period to complete this
permit would be about 135 and would be
accomplished concurrently with the fugitive
dust permit described earlier.
15
