~•
NOTICE OF INTENT
July 7, 1983
5. The area is currently being studied for vegetation and soils
in greater detail, however, information was supplied on the
fifte;n samples taken by Dr. Cook and others a year ago which
characterized the soils and vegetation. There are no endan-
gered species.
The Fish and Wildlife and Division of Wildlife have visited
the sites and are not aware of any threatened or endangered
wildlife.
In addition to geologic and geotechnical information, a portion
of the program is to identify and evaluate ground and surface
water parameters.
6. Exploration will consist of drilling by coring, augering,
or rotary methods the following:

Drill Holes Backhoe Pits
Area #1 15 6-8
Area #2 4 2
Area #3
9 2
The Backhoe pits will be approximately three feet wide by
ten feet long and 12 feet deep. Once a sample has been
taken, the pits will be returned to AOC immediately.
Topsoil will be removed from the pits, stacked separately,
and placed oY~ the surface when returning the pits to AOC.
The previously approved seed mixture will be utilized or a
mixture required by the BLh1 in Area #1.
The existing roads will be utilized and drill sites will be
located next to or along roads and firebreaks. It is not
anticipated that drill pads will be made nor will mud pits
be dug as the holes are shallower, less than 100', and port-
able mud pits will be available.
The exceptions to t17e above are the three or four holes along
the red line (see map). These holes may be up to 200 feet
deep depending upon the nature of the geologic environment.
