The area could stay under its present land use management <br />which is range management. No other land uses are anticipated, except <br />occasional wildlife use. <br />B. Development Alternative <br />• <br />The Development alternative is Che proposed action. Issuing coal <br />lease application C-26914 will allow the recoverable coal to be sur- <br />face mined through the existing mining sequence. Federal recoverable <br />E~~~IRD "~I >4v., <br />coal reserves that would be leased total 201,600 tdAS. Under this tl'~ <br />alternative there would also be a gain of approximately 43,000 tons <br />of recoverable coal Erom existing coal lease C-081330 since the buf- <br />fer area could be mined. Compliance to all conditions and stipula- <br />tions should prevent any adverse impacts to other resources. <br />The Development alternative, as planned, would be subject to the <br />stipulations listed under the environmental consequences section of <br />this document. <br />III.
