The Division of Minerals and Geology received your latest adequacy letter dated June 19,
1995 in response to DMG's adequacy concerns dated Apri127 and May 26. All of the items
submitted by Seneca Coal Company are adequate and a proposed decision to approve the
permit with stipulations has been published. There are six discrepancies in the PAP which
should be corrected by submittal of a minor revision. We recommend a revision correcting
these discrepancies be submitted by August 31, 1995.
1. Page 13-3-1 was revised to include the new primary spillway on sediment pond 10.
Page 13-3-8 needs to be updated to include this new spillway configuration. Please
revise the text on page 13-3-8 to reflect the revised spillway design.
2. Table 13-8-1 was revised to depict the supporting calculations for weighted CN's for
the YA culverts as requested by the Division in adequacy concern 43a. Supporting
calculations should also be presented for the YB culverts on that table. Please revise
Table 13-8-1 to depict supporting calculations for weighted CN's for the YB culverts.
3. Exhibit 13-2 contains the access road leading to Pond 11. In response to question
#47, Seneca Coal Company agreed that the Pond 11 would be accessed from the
Grassy Creek Road. Please remove the access road leading to pond 11 on Exhibit
13-2.
