The information is the same as
1 sent you on March 30, 1979, but it is on a standard Mined
Land Reclamamtion Wildlife Statement form. In my March 30th
letter 1 pointed out several problems we observed during a
March on-site visit at the Blue Ribbon Mine. 1Je also discussed
these problems with Bob Milner of your staff at that time and
recommended measures to correct the problems.

` After receiving your letter last week, I visited the mine
to inspect the corrections, and I must say, frankly, the actions
tak en by yo ur company to restorate and solve the problems are
the best I' ve seen by any mining company in Southwestern Colorado.
I t oroug n and was very tm - 1
and pleased to see the accomplishments. It is gradifying to
see this kind of cooperative effort. I'll be using the Blue
Ribbon Mine as an outstanding example in the future when discuss-
ing mine operating procedures and reclamation with other mining
companies. Please extend the Division of Wildlife's apprecia-
tion to Bob Milner and other staff members for a job well done.
We look forward to working with Sunflower Energy Corporation
in the future.
1i;I. ~ i979
Sincerely,
(n)~,tr_, ,.; Rick Sherman
~J~O U, I_. i:p%/{?`..,L~.,iyl r'l Tl (II`~ Wildlife Biologist
cc: B.
