T he applicant has submitted information on <br /> pH, Fluoride, Sulfate, Iron, and Manganese only. <br />2.04,8 Climatological Information <br />1. The applicant needs to discuss the differences in climatological <br /> factors to be expected at the mine site versus the weather station <br /> in Walden, since there is a pronounced effect of local topography <br /> on site climatology. <br />2. Which twenty years data were utilized to produce Tables 6, 7, <br /> and 8? <br />3. The applicant needs to document the source of the snowfall in- <br /> formation. <br />4. The applicant should provide any available wind information, <br />based on at least Z2 consecutive months of data collection which <br />presents a distribution of the average direction and velocity of <br />prevailing winds. tdind rose data from Gould, Colorado would be <br />appropriate. <br />2.04.9 Soils Resources Information <br />1. The soil series descriptions provided are for typical pedons of <br />the soil series. The applicant must provide a horizon description <br />of actual predon(s) observed during the soil survey, for each soil <br />series in the permit area. <br /> <br />2. The applicants soils map must be of the same scale as the permit <br />area map (at Ieast 1"=200' in this case). <br />3, The applicant needs to provide a discussion of present and poten- <br />tial productivity of soils. <br />4. Tables 9 and 10 need to be redrafted so all material presented <br />appears in the table. <br />5. The applicant needs to specifically address the characteristics of <br />the saline-sodic soils mentioned in Appendix E. <br />6. The applicant needs to redraft the soils information from the C,S.U. <br />soils Iab into a Form which can be easily keyed to the map. At <br />present one cannot correlate the information from the tables to <br />that in the maps. <br />7. Plate 26A is referred to in Table 9 but cannot be found in the <br />application. Please provide this information. <br />8. The applicant must justify the topsoil salvage depths presented in <br />Plate 15. <br />9.
