Revegeta ti on Plan
1. Rangeland Area. The proposed seed mixture does not provide a
diverse mixture emphasizing native species. The vegetation baseline
information suggests a more diverse vegetation than the proposed
seed mixture but the Iack of quantified data makes evaluation and
selection of a proper mixture difficult: The staff recommends a
meeting on this topic.
.u
2. Pasture Area. The vegetation work performed by ECI is on a '
pasture which has not been properly managed since 1971. While the
species proposed are currently on this area, they may or may not be
the most appropriate for a pasture in this area under best management
practices. The staff recommends that you consult with and obtain a
written recommendation from the Iocal SCS office.
3 "Excessive Steep" and "extremely steep" as used on Page IV-61
should be quantified in term s of a grade of slope.
9. Reference Areas (IV-61 - IV-62)
The application has failed to provide the following information
needed to evaluate the adequacy of the reference area proposal:
(i) Description of the vegetation community type being referenced
by each reference area.
(ii) Description of how these sites were selected as being representative
for the vegetation communities being referenced (e.g. represent-
ation of species composition, cover; diversity, similar slopes,
aspects, geology, etc.).
(iii) Description of the methodologies and techniques to be used in
comparing reference areas to revegetated areas to properly
measure and ~c';f~;^t~ rcwenr~:,t:nn snrr:,•s~ (RI?.11P)
