I. Grass
1. Qualitative descriptions with a few representative cover
transacts.
2. T and E inventory.
3, Similar to Grass/Wyethia above, but nearly pure stands of
western wheatgrass.
J. Deciduous Tree/Meadow
1. Cover - 15 maximum samples
2. Production - 15 maximum samples
3. Woody Plant Density (where applicable) - 15 maximum samples
K. Syor Drainage
1. A unique type that may represent a retrogressed
successional stage of the mountain brush community.
2. During June spring flora check, further investigations to
determine whether should be included in mountain brush
type.
3. Qualitative description with a few representative cover
transacts.
4. T and E inventory.
L. Irrigated Nay
1. Very small acreage and not anticipated to be disturbed.
Only included in permit area because of ease of legal
description and squaring permit boundaries.
2. Qualitative description and hay production figures from
operator.
3. T and E inventory.
M. Improved Pasture
1. Area which appears to have been reseeded, but not
irrigated.~D.pM-.Is .-. =^~-p1~19 ~sw~s.
-~-2. ossibl ~o be used as an improved pasture reference area.
3. f feasible as potential reference area, sampling as
follows:
a. Cover - 15 minimum samples; after 15, to adequacy or
30 maximum.
b. Production - 30 maximum.
c. Woody Plant Density - no sampling.
VI. Reference Area
A. Extended reference area concept to be used at Yoast (except r^~~'/
improved pasture). See topo map for estimate of minimal area
available.
B. The extended reference area will not be sampled separately
(except improved pasture).
1. Vegetation types have been well stratified and therefore,
homogeneity within each type will be reasonably maintained.
2. Completely random sampling techniques will be employed,
allowing all sampling areas within each type to have an
equal opportunity of occurring in the sample.
