Only those federal lands designated as C1nss I, and not <br />currently on the National Register of Natural Landmarks, shall be <br />considered as unsuitable. Therefore. this criterion is not applicable, <br />since no Class I areas have been identified. <br />Criterion Number 6: Lands Used for Scientific Studies <br />Analysis: Examination of the MTP indicates no permits hive been <br />issued for scientific studies on these Federal lands. <br />Criterion Number 7: Historic Lands and Sites <br />Analysis: About 150 acres of BLMr•administered land in these lease <br />areas have undergone 100 percent Class III inventory (Applegarth <br />and Hurlbutt. 1977). One site. 5GN36. was located. 5GN36 is the <br />remains of a ca. 1915-1926 homesuad. It is not considered eligible <br />to the National Register of Historic Places. A file senrch was <br />node at the Office of the State Archaeologist and in the National <br />_ Register of Historic Places Federal R aster, April ]. 1980, <br />Volume 45, Humber 64}. No ad tional sites eligible to or included <br />in the National Register were identified. ____ _-__ <br />Due to the lack of identified sites eligible to or nominated for <br />~- the National Register within the leased area and iven the provisions <br />as es`s blished in Criterion 7, 43 LFR 3461.1(g)(1~ and given the <br />stipulations that will be applied under the Programmatic Memorandum <br />of Agreement regarding the Federal Coal Management Program, this <br />area is considered suitsble. <br />Criterion Number 8: Natural Areas <br />Analysis: None of the Federal lnnds administered by the BLM <br />within the lease area have been designated as Natural Areas or. .. _.-_~ _._ <br />National Natural Landmarks. <br />Criterion Number 9: federally-Designated Endangered Species <br />Analysis: No endangered .plant species have been documented in the <br />~ mountain brush zone in the North Fork Valley. The lease tract <br />does not provide essential habitnt for nny Federally listed threatened <br />or endangered species. __ _ __. <br />Criterion Number 10: State-Listed Endangered Species <br />' Analysis: No critical or essential habitat for plant or animal • <br />~. species listed by the State as threatened or endangered have been <br />identified. <br />
