:. ~ •
III. Water Storage Reservoir
Sunflower Energy has filed for conditional decrees for a
ditch, reservoir and well. Publication of said filings is attached
hereto. All improvements are to be located on surface owned by
Sunflower as evidenced by the Warranty Deeds and Quit Claim attached
hereto.
The initial size of the proposed reservoir will allow
for 15 acre feet of storage. The reservoir will insure that water
from the well, which will be fed by the Hubbard Creek aquifer,
during periods of senior call, will be replaced with water released
from the reservoir. Sunflower has the corresponding NPDES Permit.
No constuction will take place until the decrees are in hand.
The total surface area of the proposed reservoir will be
4.25 acres as documented by the attached letter from Morcan Engi-
neering of Delta. An additional 30' foot corrider approximately
935' long will tie the reservoir, the auxillary pipeline from the
toe end of the reservoir to the mine and the well to the portal
development area. (See Exhibit A).
Due to demand for water storage facilities in the area,
the reservoir will permanently serve mining and irrigation needs
after the Blue Ribbon 'Mine has been depleted. Total square footage
for the reservoir, and corridor, will be 30,900.
IV. Summary
The following itemization of disturbed areas show that the
total area to be permitted is Iess than 10 acres.
3
