In 1976, Energy Fuels signed a coal supply agreement
with Illinois Power Company (see tabulation, page }~) and
simultaneously completed the erection of one Marion 8050 55
~ui.~
square yard dragline to enable increased production at the
Energy S1 Pit. Production from the Energy Pit 61 for 1977
was recorded at 3,157,796 tons, The production from the
Energy mine complex from 1972 to 1977 is tabulated belox.
Energy Mine Energy Mine Energy Mine Total Production
Year No. 1 (tons) No. 2 (tons) No. 3 (tons) (tons)
1972 747,406 21,877 -- 769,277
1973 702,573 186,136 -- 888,709
1974 1,240,750 575,393 -- 1,875,543
7975 835,792 7,240,529 527,083 2,603,404
1976 1,400,890 1,190,406 578,881 3,110,177
1977 3,151,796 443,975 385,520 3,981,291
The reserve base at the Energy ~f1 Mine is determined by
equipment limitations and the economics of extraction.
