The method will be room-and-pillar using continuous miners and belt haulage. Maximum <br />production is expected to be approximately 2.0 million tons per year. Since this is a new mine, your <br />resources. <br />Because the above referenced permit revision application would incorporate additional lands into the <br />permit area or might otherwise alter previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, <br />we are requesting your agency's evaluation of the potential for impacts to cultural and historic <br />We are requesting your agency's evaluation of this permit application with regard to the potential for <br />impacts to cultural and historic resources. In order for us to approve the application, we are required <br />to make a fording that "the proposed operations will not adversely affect any publicly owned park or <br />place listed on or those places eligible for listing, as determined by the SHPO, on the National <br />Register of Historic Places, unless approved jointly by the Board and the federal, state, or local agency <br />with jurisdiction over the park or place." We request your evaluation and concurrence in order to <br />make this fording, pursuant to the May 1, 1991, MOU between our agencies. Please refer to the <br />MOU when undertaking your review. <br />Please advise us if your require additional information. In order to for us to comply with regulatory <br />time frames, we request that comments be submitted to Tony Waldron, Division of Minerals and <br />Geology, at the above address by 5:00 p.m. on Apri123, 1996. If no comments are received by this <br />date, we will proceed on the assumption that your agency has no concerns with or objections to the <br />applicant's proposal. <br />A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Clerk and Recorder's <br />Office and at the Division of Minerals and Geology in Denver. For additional information, to provide <br />written comments, or request an informal conference, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, <br />Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567, within thirty days after <br />the last public notice in the Delta County Independent. <br />~~ <br />ANTHONY J.
