(CWI) encountered a fault, <br />with a 47 Coot displacement, nt Crosscut 36-37 of the Eight Nortl) <br />Main Entries. Lt is ^nt.icipated that the Left North Mains will reach <br />the fault at Crosscuts 39-40. <br />Tha mine plan, as approved by the Office of Surface Mining, grants <br />the right to advaucu to Crosscut 48 in the Right North Mains, to advance <br />[u Crosscut 38 in the Left Plains, to mine the Pifth and Sixth Gast Panels <br />and [o develop the Seventh East Mains. CIJI proposes a plan modification <br />that would adv:mce all the North Main entries safely through the fault <br />in order cn connect the two ports of the coal hed. These entries would <br />ha inclined, throul;h ruck, aL a slope sui[ab]e Cur the conveyor belt. <br />'fo enahlc CIJi to mina an equivalent tonnage safely, they request that <br />part of tha tonnage approved Cor mining Sixth East be placed on the left <br />s~idu of the North htn~ins. An additional E1Ve crosscuts,~to Crosscut 43 <br />in the Loft Mains, are needed Co pass through the fault. Coal tonnage <br />in the additional area is lass than that lost as a result of coal seam <br />displacement in Sixth fast. <br />In order fur C'.J1 to mine safely [h rough this major fault, and to main- <br />tain [hair current prnductiun rate, approval of the Plining Plan Modifi- <br />cation is reconm~endud. <br />John T.
