David Berry -10- June 20, 1996
elevation change of about 1500 feet. The DMG is correct.
There are two Juniper Woodland areas within the drainage area.
BRL picked the lower Juniper Woodland area to establish the
hydraulic length and elevation change. This results in the
highest peak flow calculation so it is the conservative
approach. If the DMG numbers are utilized, the peak flow
calculation decreases. BRL does not believe it is necessary
to revise the hydraulic length or elevation change for the D-3
Juniper Woodland watershed.
41. The DMG requested that an annotation arrow be added from "C-
B1" to the appropriate culvert on Map 20. Enclosed is revised
Map 20 with an annotation arrow added from "C-B1" to the
appropriate culvert as requested by the DMG.
42. On Map 21-1, Drainage Plans, and on Map 20 Sedimentation
Control Plan, the DMG states there appears to be an unlabeled
ditch that leads into culvert C-B12. This is the beginning of
Ditch D-B24. It will be labeled on revised Maps 20 & 21-1.
Enclosed are revised Maps 20 b 21-1.
43. In the Culvert Summary and Minimum Size Requirements table on
page Exh-B-26, and referring to Map 21-1, Drainage Plans, for
culvert C-B12, the DMG states that ditch B-24 should be
changed to ditch B-19. The table is correct. The confusion
on this issue relates to the unlabeled portion of ditch B-24
that in fact does flow to culvert C-B12. Please refer to page
Exh-8-64. The peak discharge for ditch D-B24 includes the
flow from ditch D-B19 and the flow from culvert C-B13.
44. The DMG asks why, in the Culvert Summary and Minimum Size
Requirements table on page Exh-8-26, culvert C-C13 and its
value of 1.88 cfs is used for culvert C-B12. Part of the
confusion on this issue is caused by a typo. Culvert C-C13 is
actually C-B13. Please refer to page Exh-8-64. The peak
discharge for ditch D-B24 includes the flow from ditch D-B19
and the flow from culvert C-B13. Culvert C-B12 must handle
the flow from ditch D-B24 except culvert C-B13 enters ditch D-
B-24 after culvert C-B12. Therefore, the flow from C-B13 is
deducted from the design flow for culvert C-B12. The typo is
corrected on the enclosed revised page Exh-8-26.
45. The data for culverts C-D1, C-E1, C-F1 and the culvert at the
base of the gob pile was added to the Culvert Summary and
Minimum Size Requirements on the enclosed page Exh-8-26.
46. An annotation of the culvert at the base of the qob pile was
added on Map 20, Sedimentation Control Plan, and on Map 21-1,
Drainage Plans as requested by the DMG. Enclosed are revised
Maps 20 and 21-1.
