As discussed over the telephone on October 25, 1983, this is
the initial response to your Draft Findings Document of March 14, 1983.
This submission contains our response to part of the stipulations and
adequacy issues. At this time, only two copies of the responses are
enclosed for your initial review, and one copy to OSM. Upon completion
of our responses to the Draft Findings Document, the total required
number of copies will be submitted to your office and to OSM. The
status of the responses is as follows:
STIPULATIONS
I. Additional stream channel reconstruction information: Yet to
be completed.
2. Sampling on piezometer A-10: Due to the difficulty of sampling
in the 1-1J4" PVC piezometer, a review of the stipulation has
been requested of your office. We have also requested a semi-
annual submission of water quantity and quality, except for the
NPDES report, which will be submitted quarterly.
3. Request for submission of an annual updated mine inflow map: We
will commit to this submission as part of the annual hydrologic
report.
4. Request for annual hydrologic report: We will commit to the
submission of an annual hydrologic report as set forth in the
Draft Findings Document. Due to our present push to respond to
the Draft Findings Document, we wish to extend this year's report
submission date to 60 days subsequent to final permit approval.
5. Water rights replacement mechanics plan: Yet to be completed.
