Following conversations with Mr. Dan Mathews of the Division, I summarized my understanding of the timetable to be followed by the Division for final approval of the Bear Coal Company plans: • February 18, 1982 - Adequacy response information submitted to the Division. • February 19, 1982 through March 5, 1982 - Draft findings document prepared by Division with additional information supplied as necessary to the Division by Bear Coal Company. • Plarch 5, 1982 -Draft findings document submitted to 0514 for review and concurrence. • March 8, 1982 through March 12, 1982 - Findings document finalized by Division with any additional input by OSM and Bear Coal Company. • 14arch 12, 1982 - Proposed final decision made by Division; Notice of proposed final decision given to the North Fork Times in Paonia, Colorado for required 30-day publication period. • March 18, 14arch 25, April 1, April 8, 1982 - tJotice of proposed final decision published in North Fork Times. • April 9, 1982 - Final approval issued to Bear Coal Company by Divisicn. I realize that the timetables delineated above 'provide a projected schedule for approval of the Bear Coal Company mining and reclamation plans and do not absolutely represent a final approval deadline. However, they do serve as an important goal so that Bear Coal Company can maintain present levels of production and employment.
