1973, extend the jurisdiction of the Office
of the State Archaeologist only to lands
owned by the State of Colorado and to privately
owned land by permission of the landowner.
Section 2.04.5 General Description of Hydrology and Geology
The agreement was reached for Chimney Rock
Coal to provide a USGS Quad Sheet of the area
with as much specific information available
on the geology of the surrounding area. A
rough copy of a proposed method of depicting
geology information on a regional scale by
means of a map is attached. The map was
prepared based upon observation, personal
recollection and an aerial photograph.
Therefore, it is not intended to be wholly
inclusive, rather it provides the reader with
an appreciation of the significant geologic
formations in the mine area. It should be
noted that information currently available
applies to geology of the San Juan Basin.
The limiting factor in this instance is that
site specific information as applies to
geology on a regional level is not available.
