p. 9
' 4.15 Reve~etation
I
i
~ 1. The Division requests that the applicant commit to a biennial monitoring
of revegetation success. The monitoring should be submitted to the Division
and include an analysis of cover, herbaceous productivity, woody plant density
~ and species composition.
! 2. The applicant needs to define and discuss the "yankability" test as
presented under 7.12.5 Grazing.
1
I
3. The applicant needs to discuss the revegetation success criteria and
values which will be applied to the woody plant communitie(s) at the mine.

4. In herbaceous communities, the applicant must demonstrate comparability
between reference and baseline areas with 90% statistical confidence, not
the 80% level stated. An 80°!, level is an acceptable success criteria for
parameters in woody communities.
~ 5. If the applicant wishes a variance from the success criteria for
woody plant density in reclaimed areas, the applicant must present the
request, with supporting information, to the Division after the completion
of the 1981 sampling program. The supporting information should include
proposed woody plant densities for the reclaimed surface, potential
adverse impacts on fish, wildlife and related environmental values,
and a discussion of the ability of the proposed vegetatopm to control
erosion.
