<br /> <br />-2- <br />1) Discharge of mine water on receiving stream (Oak Creek) -the <br />applicant should either show using ground water baseline that no <br />discharge is anticipated, or estimate the quantity and quality of the <br />discharge and its effect upon water quality in Oak Creek. <br />2) Depletion of spring flow - the applicant should either show through <br />their spring and seep survey that no significant springs or seeps exist <br />in the permit and adjacent area or provide an assessment of mining <br />effects on the springs. <br />3) The proposed mining operation would undermine South Oak Creek and <br />an unnamed tributary to South Oak Creek. The applicant should either <br />submit sufficient baseline to show that no surface or alluvial ground <br />water resources exist along these drainages or provide an assessment of <br />mining effects on surface flow and alluvial ground water flow. <br />4) The applicant should assess the effects of the culvert and fill <br />upon surface water hydrology. Particularly if the applicant wishes to <br />leave these permanently. (During adequacy we can discuss whether or not <br />the fill can be left during permanent reclamation. I do not believe that <br />the culvert is an acceptable permanent stream diversion.) <br />ROY MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL GW CONCERNS - <br />SURFACE WATER BASELINE - <br />Lewis Gulch - No qual or quan <br />Oak Creek -perennial - No flow data <br />some quality data (March) -minimal <br />quality data insufficient to show <br />seasonal variations.
