z-
Rule Description
2.04.4 The Colorado Historical Society has determined that
archaeological site SLP356 is within the mine area and
recommends this site be evaluated in terms of the National
Register criteria. (See enclosed letter).
2.04.5 There are numerous incomplete analyses of statements given
and sometimes contradicting facts presented in this
section. For example, on page 4-5, paragraph 2, it states
that holes 12 B, 17B and 82-5 "had no water inflows," yet
in the third paragraph on page 4-11, it is stated that the
"static water level was at 90.9 feet" and water production
was 50 gpm.
Paragraph 1 of 2.04.7(1) states "drilling does not
indicate the occurrence of a water table", yet on
page 4-11, flows of 50 to 150 gpm are noted.
Paragraph 3 on page 4-11 states that because Oakridge is
the surface owner of the land, they have the water rights
for the area. This information needs to be verified.
Additionally, it is stated that the Animas River is under
appropriated. This will also need be verified.
2.04.5(1) Paragraph 2 states the project will not disrupt any flows
or streams in the general hydrologic area, yet the permit
indicates all of the surface drainage from Carbon Junction
gulch will flow into the pit, and not until all mining is
complete will the east and west diversion ditches be
installed.
