<br />-11- <br /> <br />2.05.6(3)(a) paragraph (2) states "the degree of impact cannot be <br />assessed with the current baseline ground and surface <br />water quantity and quality data ...." If there is <br />insufficient baseline data to determine the impact of this <br />surface mine, then the permit cannot be approved at this <br />time until such information is available. Perhaps a more <br />detailed study of the data provided, including the Annual <br />Hydrology Reports, by hydrologists may shed light on the <br />possible impacts at this time. <br />2.05.6(3)(iii) The Division strongly urges a revamping of the ground <br />water monitoring plan to include more wells to determine <br />existing and post mining consequences. <br />2.053.6(3)(b)(iii) Given the above statement in (3)(b)(iii) and <br />2.05.6(3)(a), why is the recharge capacity expected to <br />increase? <br />HR/ern (11/20/92) <br />M:\oss\ern\C92080 <br />
