-10-
2.05.4(2)(e)(ii) A map with locations would be appropriate.
(cont.) Additionally, what are the proposed woody plant success
standards? The operator needs to provide a breakdown of
the topsoil stockpile seed mix (total rate and rate of
each species).
Page 5-29(iii) and (iv) should contain a commitment to
crimping the straw mulch, using netting or using a
tackifier.
Page 5-29(v) will need to have a detailed weed control
plan added to this section. This should include:
a. target weeds
b. control methods
c. types and rates of pesticides used
d. When control measures will be implemented
Page 5-30(vi) - This section should contain a clear
success standard for cover, production, diversity and
woody plant density on all disturbed areas. We will not
approve the permit without this or a stipulation to
provide it.
Page 5-28 2(e)(ii)(iii) - The seed mix in table 5-7 is way
too heavy. According to my calculations there would be
338.17 pure live seeds/sf at this rate. The final mix
should be applied at approximate 50 to 60 PLS/sf if
drilled and double that amount if broadcast or
hydromulched. The basic components seem okay but the
portions will need to re-calculated.
