There are only about 200 feet of cut
slope on the existing Class II Road system. It
has a cut slope of approximately lv:lh. (v3, p. 816-
208)
The Applicant will comply.
d) Road embankments. The existing Class II Roads
embankments were constructed using mine spoil and
existing road cut material. This section is not applicable
because no new roads will be constructed. (v3, p. 816-
211)
816.163 Roads: Class II: Drainage
a) General. The existing culverts and ditches are
adequate for the required flows, based on calculations
performed to comply with 30 CFR 816.153. (v3, pp. 816-
211-212(a))
The Applicant will comply.
b) Ditches or alternatives. Class II Roads have drainage
crowns and have no safety berms, therefore the surface
drains freely to the borrow ditches which also collect
the runoff from above the roadbeds. The only surface
dip exists on Road F and will be eliminated by adequate
road crown drainage. (v3, pp. 816-212 (a)-212(b))
The Applicant will comply.
