~. <br />-9- <br />By fall 1975, Smooth Brome and Intermediate Wheatgrass were noticeable. <br />During the summer of 1976 all of [he perennial species, except Orchardgrass <br />appeared to be well established. Ground cover in 1976 and 1977, according to <br />Energy Fuels, was approximately 39 percent. <br />Total production in August 1977 was found to be 1263 pounds of (air) dry <br />forage per acre. During July and August the precipitation was 3.89 inches and <br />3.09 inches, respectively. Temperatures during July and August average <br />between 68 and 66 degrees F. (See Figures I and III). These conditions <br />provided ideal opportunity for late seasonal growth. The plant density was <br />4.47 per square foot Sn 1977.
