Are <br />these composite samples for more than one horizon? The correspondim <br />depths sampled should be given~in Table 2 for each sample. <br />2. On page II. 1-7 (Table 2), there are more than one set of sample <br />VII. Please specify whether the second set is supposed to be sample VIII. <br />3. The applicant must supply a map of proposed topsoil stripping depths <br />to comply with 2.04.9(1)(c)(ii). <br />4. A statement of the capability classes of the soils is given. However, <br />the regulations (2.09.9(1)(e)) require a discussion of present and potential <br />productivity of the soils. Please submit this discussion. ' <br />2.09.10 Vegetation Information <br />1. The computations for sample adequacy need to be presented. <br />2. On page II. J-15, the symbols used in the equations should be ~efined. <br />Also, in th~ case of the S2 factor of the second equation, which S is <br />used (the S for sample X1 or X2)? <br />3. Some of the reference areas (19 ~ 13) on the vegetation map are <br />located within the proposed disturbed areas. If these reference areas <br />are to be used in the future assessment of revegetation success, they <br />can not be disturbed. Please state whether these areas will be disturbed. <br />4. Rule 2.04.10(9) of the Colorado regulations requires a discussion of <br />the relationship between environmental factors on the distribution of <br />species. This section also requires that the condition of the community <br />be assessed. Please supply such a discussion. <br />2.04.11 Fish and Wildlife Resources Information <br />1. No discussion is given of the presence or absence of fish in Grassy <br />Creek. Please provide a discussion. Also specify whether any endangered <br />species are present. <br />2. The applicant makes reference in the text to areas designated by <br />DOW. Please provide a map indicating the relationship of these areas to <br />the permit area. <br />
