Dept of Natural Resources <br />This letter shall serve as a formal request for assistance from the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division under [he Small Operator's Assistance <br />Program. To that end the following information is provided pursuant <br />to regulation. <br />1. It is the intention of Blue Flame Coal Company, Inc. <br />to file a permit application. <br />2. The permit applicant and operatep~i is the Blue Flame <br />Coal Company, Inc. P. 0. Box 1425, Durango, Colorado 51301. <br />3. Coal will be mined under the name of the Blue Flame <br />Coal Company, Inc. The mine is currently not operating hence there <br />is no permit number and Mining Enforcement and Safety Administration <br />identification number. <br />There was no coal production for the year preceding <br />this apnlication. <br />The estimated coal production for the proposed permit <br />is 10,000 tons per year for a five year period. <br />4. This is not a surface coal mining operation. <br />The anticipated starting date of the mining operation <br />is September 1, 1984. The termination date is unknown but will be <br />approximately mid-summer 1989. <br />Horizontal penetration will not exceed 1500 feet from <br />the surface entrance. Vertical depth shall not exceed 300 feet from <br />aobe ground surface to coal seam floor. <br />
