~i
Mr. Kent Gorham
July 26, 1997
Page 5

subsequent sediment runoff to the site. Sediment delivery ratios will decrease
significantly from the modeled storm. LCC recognized the necessity to meet applicable
performance standazds and effluent regulations, but feels that the pond will perform
adequately.
Fi115
LCC is confident of its current designs, and is refraining from re-design of the Fill 5 pond
at this time per the azguments found in 1481.
k. The Fill 5 required sediment storage level has been changed on Exhibit 15-14.
150. LCC anticipates and accepts the stipulation associated with the geotechnical investigation
of the MSHA ponds.
164. A reassessment of the potential worst ease disturbance associated with culvert 124 + 79
yielded dischazge of 254.63 cfs and the need for an 84" culvert a[thatlocation. Please
replace the revised culvert run in Exhibit 14 as well as the Jeff Canyon Haul Road Ditch and
Culvert Specifications Table.
183. LCC accepts the stipulation on the geotechnical study.
184. The overlay (Figure 3.02.2-1) has been recreated and is attached. Terracing is currently
found throughout the post-mine topography as shown on Map 2.05.4-1.
185. The fill #1 designation on Figure 2.05.4-11 has been eliminated as the cross-section no
longer passes through Fill 1.
LCC conceptually accepts the stipulations identified in the July 26, 1997 adequacy letter. Please
forward a draft copy of the stipulations to LCC as they aze prepazed. We would like to be included
in the discussion of verbiage and the stipulation dates. Please do not hesitate to call with questions.
Sincerely,
~~~~
Cathy Begej
Assistant Project Manager
attachments
