„i
Page 4, Item B.6.:
Snowmass will provide a preliminary spring survey now and will commit to a
more complete study when weather allows. It is understood that a commitment to
a complete spring survey will be a condition of an approved Permit but will not
cause a delay in the granting of such a Permit.
Page 4, Item B.7&8.:
Snowmass will submit mine inflow maps on updated mine workings maps of the
No. 1 and No. 3 mines. The maps used will be similar to maps A and B of the sub-
sidence section and will depict surface streams and topography. All individually
significant inflows within accessible areas and discharge points from mined out
areas will be plotted on these maps. Flow measurements will be taken where pos-
sible or otherwise will becstimated and pH, conductivity, and temperature measure-
ments will be provided for each plotted inflow. Inflows which are immeasurably
small or are judged as not contributing a large percentage of the total daily
water production will not be plotted or tested. However, in areas where a high
concentration of small inflows occur, an effort will be made to plot and describe
the area as a whole.
A water study as outlined on Page 1, Item III.A. of the Permit Application
Review Comments letter dated January 6, 1982 will be provided.
Snowmass will commit to a annual submittal of updated inflow maps to the
Division. The maps will be similar to those previously described. A description
of new, significant, inflow sources will be included along with an updated de-
scription of all active, previously identified sources.
Page 5, Item B.10.:
The collection of baseline water quality data for Middle Thompson Creek is
currently in progress. Existing surface water sampling stations located on Middle
Thompson Creek, up and down stream from areas to be affected by mining, will be
plotted on a suitable map. The map and all accumulated data not previously sub-
mitted will be provided to the Division, Additional monitoring wells in the
Middle Thompson Creek area will not be required.
Page 5, Item B.11.:
Snowmass will continue to collect data on water levels and water quality
from existing bedrock monitoring wells in the mine area. All collected data
will be submitted to the Division.
The existing piezometer bore holes in Mine No. 3, mentioned in the ground-
water hydrology section of the application, will be preserved for possible use
in the future.
Page 6, Item B.12.:
Water held in the conveyor washdown ponds will be analyzed for all required
baseline water quality monitoring parameters. Information on the physical and
chemical properties of any surfactant or antifreeze agents used at the to ad out
will be sought from the manufacturers and provided to the Division.
