~ .~ <br />• <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />• <br />This publication constitutes notice of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Division's proposed decision approving an application fora permit revision <br />to construct two coal processing waste disposal areas under the provisions <br />of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The application <br />was submitted by Powderhorn Coal Company, P.O.Box 1430, Palisade, Colorado <br />81526, for the Cameo and Roadside Mine. The effective date of this decision <br />is May 25, 1985. <br />The disposal areas will be located in Debeque Canyon in Mesa County, approxi- <br />mately three miles north of Palisade, Colorado along Interstate 70. The <br />surface to be disturbed is owned by Powderhorn Coal Company, The coal <br />resources is .owned by Powderhorn Coal Company and the United States <br />Government. The two disposal areas are within Sections 27 and 28, T10S, <br />R98W of the 6th p.m. <br />Seven stipulations have been included in this approval to ensure environmental <br />protection by the surface coal mining operation. Copies of the proposed <br />decision, including all stipulations, are available for inspection at the <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 423, Centennial Building, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. A copy is <br />also on file at the Mesa County Clerk's Office in Grand Junction, Colorado. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed <br />decision m.ay request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board on the proposed decision. Such a request must be made by May 24, 1985, <br />be in writing, and state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the <br />request and the objections to the proposed decision. <br />
