Restoration was conducted at the Old Charlie Wash wetland on the Ouray <br />National Wildlife Refuge. Inlet and outlet structures have been <br />installed to control water levels and prevent large nonnative fish <br />from entering. Biologists captured about 20,000 razorback and <br />fl annelmouth suckers in the Green River in the spring of 1994 and <br />transplanted them to this wetland; however, the nonnative fish control <br />structures were not operative the entire season, and no razorback <br />suckers were collected in the fall. <br />2. A water supply/conditioning reservoir and 12 0.2-acre endangered fish <br />refugia ponds were constructed at the Ouray Endangered Fish Facility. <br />C. Adequacy of flows: <br />a. Service flow recommendations being Implemented pursuant to Flaming <br />Gorge biological opinion. <br />b. The State of Utah adopted a policy legally protecting summer/fall <br />flows in the Green River from Flaming Gorge Dam to the confluence of <br />the Duchesne River. <br />c. Yampa River/Little Snake.River--current flows adequate with some <br />localized shortages in late summer and early fall; legal protection <br />yet to be provided. <br />d. White River--current flows adequate; legal protection yet to be <br />provided. <br />e. Duschesne--flow requirements on the main stem have not yet been <br />determined. <br />da.ior Recovery Program Suooort Activities (Basinwidej: <br />Support activities (funding, research, I and E, etc.) in the Program that <br />contribute to sufficient progress to the extent they help achieve a measurable <br />population response, a measurable improvement in habitat fo"r the fishes, legal <br />protection of flows needed for recovery, ar a reduction in the threat of <br />immediate extinction. <br /> <br />
