Mr. Dean Massey
April 26, 1978
Page Five
CWI intends to avoid a situation where vegetation becomes
dependent upon irrigation.
No additional reclamation work is anticipated in the
well area north of the mine. There is very little
disturbance in that area and the well and water pump
will be put to beneficial use in their existing condition.
5. We also understand that CWI must provide a reclamation
bond before the permit can be issued. We have figured
an estimated cost of reclaiming the permit area, with
the following assumptions; 1) the cost of building removal
will be covered by an agreement between the Mined Land
Reclamation Board and CWI, and; 2) that the reclamation
cost is based upon topsoiling the disturbed areas and
reseeding to achieve an acceptable cover. The cost
breakdown is as follows:
Cost for Topsoil Cost for Seeding
Acres @ $2,000/Acre @ $700/Acre
Refuse Area 17.2 34,400 12,040
Benches 15.3 30,600 10,710
Loadout 12.6 25,200 8,820
Ditch 4.0 8,000 2,800
Road (surfaces) 4.2 8,400 2,940
Retention Dam 1.4 2,800 980
Parking Area 9.8 19,600 6,860
+ road and
pavement at
parking area
Cut and fill 21.5 ------ 15,050
Waterline 3.5 ------ 2,450
TOTAL 89.5 129,000 62,650
129,000
GRAND TOTAL 191,650
